Lighting glass with Michael Ruh

I’ve been fortunate to work with the team at Michael Ruh, one of the UK’s premier glassblowing studios, several times. On previous shoot we have created images for their beakers, bowls, glasses and vases. This time it was the turn of their new range of pendant lights. Shooting lighting in always challenging, especially capturing ‘on’ and ‘off’ images, the difficulty is increased when the pendant is made of coloured glass.

A custom painted backdrop was used with a pre-drilled fixing point for the wooden peg which would act as a styling holder for the flex.

The Michael Ruh collection of hand blown glass pendant lights are made from recycled glass in 12 colour options.
