Photography and Styling Workshop

An example of a workshop with Photographer Yeshen Venema and Stylist Emma Shipley
These sessions can take place within a home setting or a suitable workshop space where we can bring in furniture, backdrops and props.

In this practical four hour workshop photographer Yeshen Venema and Stylist Emma Shipley will demonstrate how to use both natural light to style and photograph your work within a contemporary home setting.

They will introduce the concept of styling ‘to camera’, how to choose and use props and how to choose the right locations in a home for your work. They will also be on hand to ensure you have the right shots to cover social media, ecommerce and press use.

Key learning points:

  • Tips on simple and affordable kit including foamboard, blu tac and muslin.

  • How to use a tripod.

  • Use Aperture Priority mode to make an image appear bright even on a dull day.

  • How to manage reflections in your work.

  • How to style for a high end look.

  • How to introduce food and drink props.

Please bring your own equipment - this could include your camera, camera phone, tripod and any other accessories you use for your own photography. Please also bring items of your own work to shoot and any props you may like to use. Emma will have a selection of props to use from her collection alongside some dried and fresh flowers.
