About me and our studio

I’m Yeshen

I am a Product and Lifestyle Photographer and Squarespace Specialist with a passion for helping artists, designer-makers and micro businesses thrive, having seen how professional photography and websites transform sales, brands and even personal confidence. Our company was established in East London in 2012, we are now based in Islington. My name ‘Yeshen’ has meanings in many different cultures.

My Journey

I studied a foundation course at The University for the Creative Arts in Farnham followed by a BA in Marketing & Advertising at UAL in London.

Before setting my company I worked in many roles across the events and music industries including some time in Stockholm, Amsterdam and even Bavaria!

My services include Photography and Squarespace websites alongside my educational workshops, webinars and speaking engagements. For more about Yeshen check out this interview on the Eat Work Art website.

I am proud to be one of the most recommended photographers in the UK for Designers, Makers and Artists. I was featured in the Brand Stylist’s 50 Phenomenal Photographers and 91 Magazine’s 25 UK-based small business photographers. We are one of the leading studios for book photography with clients such as Penguin Random House, Simon and Schuster, Thames and Hudson, Harper Collins, Little Brown, Canongate and Faber.

“Stunning product photography. Simple, striking and colourful”.

Collaboration

I enjoy working alongside clients, we welcome you to attend shoots so you can be involved in the process and give us feedback as we go. I edit images live using Capture One software (my camera is tethered to my laptop) and only go into Photoshop for advanced editing if required, so there are no surprises.

“I loved the selection of background colours which seemed to match my work perfectly. Great props, creative ideas and lots of help when needed.”

Stylists

I work with 2 highly experienced and talented Stylists, Jessica Jung and Emma Shipley plus with the art director and retoucher Natasha Tonkin on our book photography work. Together we plan each shoot to create the best possible images for our clients from studio sets to location houses around the UK.
