Fly Wild Swans
We were commissioned by Harper Collins to create a series of images to promote the long-awaited sequel to Wild Swans. The first book, a multi-million copy, international bestseller, traced the history of modern China through the true stories of three generations of women in one family. Fly, Wild Swans continues the story of Jung’s family—and China—from the late 1970s until today.
The brief asked for a more casual ‘on the go’ feel to some of the images so we used natural light and interior features alongside props that suited the book in terms of style and colour. We also used a pink gel over a low angled light to simulate a natural sunset look for the ‘unboxing’ image.
