Cards and stationery

This is another diverse category that may cover greeting cards, notebooks, letterpress, branding materials and other items.

Preparing

It's a good idea to bring two of each design in case on gets damaged but this is not essential.

Notebooks will often need tac or tape to stop them. Bring envelopes and other packaging if appropriate.

Create a shot list and include details you need to capture, i.e. embossing/foiling on design or logo on rear of product.

Styling and shots

An overhead flat lay is often used, but greeting cards can also be shot standing up, however different props will suit each view. Flatter props with clear profiles work well overhead while smaller plants are good for side views.

Bringing your own items of furniture or surfaces  is highly recommended, could be antique or contemporary, we can help you select the right look.

Blank cards can be shot if you wish to add artworks in photoshop, but consider the props you are using if they are on themes for example.
