Homemade by Nara Aziza Smith
We were commissioned by Harper Collins to shoot some lifestyle photography for this stunning new book. The brief asked for a real kitchen space so we approached stylist Jessica Jung who Yeshen has worked with for many years. Her recently refurbished home in Walthamstow was perfect for this shoot.
The kitchen was built by Holte Studio and the tiles created by Palet Company, the resulting colour pallet and finishes suited the book’s cover. We used two areas of the countertops for the standing shots with kitchen props and some lighting food styling and the round dining table for a gifting shot. We also brought along one of our Club Backdrop terrazzo vinyls for some interior page shots.
We used natural light with some extra punch from our Pro Foto L600c LED which can be tuned to match the colour temperature of any ambient lighting. While we shoot most of our books in a smaller studio space sometimes there is nothing like a real home!
